Air New Zealand best in business

17 Dec 2008

Business Traveler magazine has named Air New Zealand top airline for business class travel to the South Pacific, for the third year in a row.

The magazine said Air New Zealand was the most innovative and attentive airline serving popular destinations in the South Pacific, such as Auckland, Sydney, Melbourne and a number of Pacific island destinations.

Business Traveler publishes nine editions around the world and has been a leader in recognising excellence in business travel for nearly 20 years.

Airline strategy
Air NZ said it had secured its place as 2008's 'Best Business Class to Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific' through continuously upgrading its aircraft fleet and onboard amenities.

"We want business travellers to be able to focus on their work rather than ours," said Roger Poulton, vice president, Air New Zealand - The Americas.

Customer focus
The airline says it has designed a "seamless journey" with customers at the core - from new state-of-the-art domestic check-in to the lie-flat bed, award-winning food and wine, and more than 400-hours of inflight entertainment.

The in-flight concierge service had also been popular as it offered business travellers personal assistance before, during and after the flight, said Poulton.

Other awards
Air New Zealand's most recent accolades include:

  • 'Best Transpacific Airline' - 26th Airline Industry Awards
  • 'Best Passenger Service' - Air Transport World magazine
  • 'Best Business Class Red Wine' (Martinborough Pinot Noir 2005) - 2007 Cellars in the Sky awards.
