New Zealand field brings Peace on Earth message

Auckland is displaying a giant message of peace - and it’s displayed in corn.
The work makes up a corn maze featuring a massive dove carrying an olive branch. Designed by local artist Jarad Bryant, the maze stretches across nearly five hectares on a rural property in Drury on the outskirts of Auckland.
Property owner Ashley Commerer took ten days to mark out the detailed Peace on Earth maze with bamboo stakes and cut the walking tracks into the cornfield with a ride-on mower.
The majority of corn plants are around 2.1 metres tall, except for the plants in lower part of the central field which were planted slightly later. Commerer plans to have another aerial photo taken when the plants are fully grown and flowers have bloomed up in the currently blank globe and star-shaped spaces.
This is the second work of art on the property from artist Bryant. Last year it was a maze featuring the Genetic Engineering Free New Zealand logo and a butterfly.
