Gay Ski Week - Queenstown
29 August - 6 September, 2009

New Zealand’s South Island resort of Queenstown will live up to its party reputation next week as hundreds of gay men and women celebrate Gay Ski Week NZ.

The seventh annual Gay Ski Week, due to begin this Saturday (29.09.09), is a seven-day feast of fun, frivolity and festivities, on and off the slopes.

With over 700 people expected, Gay Ski Week has become Australasia’s biggest gay and lesbian alpine happening and attracts visitors from all over the world.

Events schedule

Gay Ski Week’s programme offers a full schedule of mountainside and off-piste activities - from downhill ski races for adrenalin junkies to social après-ski functions, group dinners and creative night time events.

A special feature on this year’s programme is Friday night skiing (4.09.09) when Coronet Peak’s trails will be flood-lit from top to bottom, setting a magical scene for skiers of every ability level.

Old favourites will include retro bowling and karaoke at the Sky City Queenstown Casino.

A "pink bus" will transfer snow lovers from the slopes to night time events.

Big Gay Outs

Two ‘Big Gay Outs’ will throw adventure-seekers headfirst into Queenstown’s high adrenalin scene of skydiving, bungy jumping and jet boating.

The Novotel Queenstown Lakeside is the base hotel and official centre of Gay Ski Week.

Queenstown - known as the adventure capital of the world - will also offer Gay Ski Week visitors a big choice of activities from bungy jumping to a relaxing massage, jet boating to heli-skiing, snowboarding to sky-diving.
