Kiwi actor to play Prince William

A New Zealand actor has been crowned with the lead role in an eagerly awaited movie about Prince William and Kate Middleton’s fairytale romance.
Kiwi actor Nico Evers-Swindell will play Prince William in the American made-for-television film that follows the couple’s courtship complicated by global media attention and royal family pressures.
Nico Evers-Swindell
Nico Evers-Swindell was born in 1979, and went to Victoria University in Wellington - New Zealand’s capital city - before training at the Actors Centre Conservatory in New York.
Based in America, Evers-Swindell was in The Edge of Darkness with Mel Gibson in 2010, and has made appearances in the television crime dramas NCIS: Los Angeles and Law and Order.
William and Kate will be Evers-Swindell’s first major role.
The actor is a cousin of New Zealand rowing world champions Georgina and Caroline Evers-Swindell. Their fathers are twins.

One New Zealand news website is running an online poll asking "Who’s hotter" out of Prince William and Nico Evers-Swindell, with an impressive 86% of readers voting for the Kiwi actor.
William and Kate: The movie
American television network Lifetime is creating the made-for-TV movie William and Kate.
The film follows the story of how the friendship between the prince and future princess blossomed into a romantic love affair, complicated by social and royal family pressure.
Prince William's father, Prince Charles, will be played by British Star Trek actor Ben Cross, but the role of the soon-to-be princess hasn’t been cast.
The movie will be produced by Frank Konigsberg, and directed by Ghost Whisperer's Mark Rosman.
William and Kate will air in the United States on 29 April - a week before the royal wedding takes place in London.
