Creative tourism, a development from cultural tourism, involves learning a skill on holiday that is part of the culture of the country or community being visited.
Creative tourists develop their creative potential, and get closer to local people, by actively participating in workshops and learning experiences that draw on the culture of their holiday destinations.
Creative Tourism New Zealand offers visitors to the Nelson/Tasman region a wide variety of hands-on creative workshops that reflect New Zealand’s diverse culture.
Lasting from two hours to four days, Creative Tourism New Zealand offers workshops in Maori culture and traditions, New Zealand art and crafts, New Zealand fibre and woolcraft, New Zealand flora and fauna and New Zealand cuisine.
