All the Labels You Want
In Auckland you don’t have to walk far to get the best fashion from all over the world, as well as New Zealand’s. Big European names like Margiela and Demeulemeester are available - with High Street stores such as Workshop having made a name for themselves stocking famous fashion labels. ZambesiMan specialises in imported labels for men, as well as stocking a few creations of its own. Zambesi creator Liz Findlay doesn’t feel at all threatened by selling international labels in her stores: ‘I think choice is great and diversity is great,’ she says. ‘I don’t think we have to be afraid of imports or be guided by them either. To be international we need to be able to get international fashion labels here. When I go away now, what do I buy? Maybe the occasional perfume you can’t get here, but really you can virtually get anything you want in New Zealand.’
