Wattyl Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge
The Wattyl Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge is a fun road cycling event and with more
than 5700 cyclists, it is the biggest in New Zealand. Cyclists can participate
in the fun event as either solo riders biking 162km (100 miles), or as part of
a relay team biking 40 km (24.8 mile) sections. The course circumnavigates Lake
Taupo in the central North Island, however many choose to go round twice (320km)
and a few ride through the night and most of the day to tackle the 500km (310
mile) barrier (super enduro). The race is held every last Saturday in November.
