Kerikeri's Sailing School
At a school in Northland’s flourishing town of Kerikeri, students from around the world can learn to read, write and sail.
Overseas students are invited to take up a one-year programme at Kerikeri High School, studying at least four academic subjects and the art of sailing.
The school is already famous for turning out world-class sailors – previous students have gone on to become Olympians and America’s Cup yachties, as well as the World Teams’ Sailing champions.
Sailing in the beautiful Bay of Islands, students hone their skills in dinghies and larger yachts, learning navigation and safe seamanship.
Students from overseas spend their year living in a New Zealand home and pay around NZ$13,000 for the unique learning experience.
