Strong, bold line and expressive colours form the basis of Finnish-born artist Sirpa Alalääkkolä's work.
She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki 1990. She was awarded a prestigious Fulbright scholarship to do postgraduate studies at New York University. After studies Sirpa traveled painting and exhibiting in India, the Pacific Islands and Australia creating paintings of different cultures and people. The last decade she has been living and working in New Zealand.
