The winter spawning runs into the tributary streams of Lake Taupo and is spectacular.
Cost: Average cost for half a day from NZ$490.00. Average cost for a full day with picnic hamper from NZ$934.00

During the summer months dry fly fishing reaches its peak and the wilderness rivers are the best place to catch quality Rainbow and Brown Trout in the rivers.
Cost: Full day wilderness fly fishing with helicopter and/or 4-wheel drive access from NZ$3846.00 to NZ$4778.00 per day.

Lake Taupo offers excellent fishing all year round and there is no closed season.
Cost: Average cost for boat fishing NZ$225.00 per hour, food and beverages extra.
