A fine example of Victorian technology housed in a stone castle-like building, which signalled the time to ships in the harbour each day until 1934. The rare timeball mechanism is still in working order. Outside viewing at all times, open 10-5 7 days November-April, and Sunday-Thursday in winter, May to October.
