Hells Gate Thermal Reserve
Hells Gate is the most active geothermal park in Rotorua. Walk in the park and see a hot water fall, steaming vents, bubbling pools of mud and water. 1000 kg of geothermal mud and sulphur water is produced giving visitors to the park the unique experience of bathing in mud baths and sulphur spas. Wai Ora Spa sited within Hells Gate provides traditional massage, mud facial and body scrubs. Our new interactive area provides visitors with hands on carving, dress up in Maori costumes, face painting and flax making. Open 364 days of the year (closed Christmas Day), located 20 minutes from city centre, shuttle transfers available daily. Bookings essential. Operational hours 8.30am - 8.30pm.
