Hells Gate Thermal Reserve
Wai Ora Spa & Wellness Centre is set amongst Rotorua's most active geothermal reserve at Hells Gate, Tikitere.

For centuries Maori warriors returning from battle bathed here to salve their wounds. Now you too can take in the waters and experience the uniqueness of Hells Gate.

Treasured by the local Maori people as a place of healing and revitalising, Wai Ora Spa features traditional New Zealand massage therapies (containing elements of the Mirimiri, or traditional Maori massage), sulphur spa, body mud scrubs and mud masks. Wai Ora Spa & Wellness Centre is also home to New Zealand's only authentic mud bath complex, traditionally themed and nestled in amongst our unique geothermally active reserve.
