Alexandra Redoubt NZ Historic Places Trust
Bellot Street, Pirongia

Alexandra Redoubt at Pirongia is one of the best preserved earthworks of the New Zealand Wars, built when Pirongia was garrisoned during the Te Kooti campaigns. It was intended as a refuge for local families. Outside viewing is available at all times.
