Haast Visitor Centre
Jnc. SH6 and Jackson Bay Road, Haast

Informative displays about the unique cultural, historic, and natural features of South Westland and Te Wahipounamu - South Westland New Zealand World Heritage Area.

We can advise you on what to see and do in the Haast area plus provide track information, backcountry hut tickets and hunting permits. We also have conservation related products for sale, books on New Zealand's wildlife and forests, postcards, maps and gifts. There is a card phone and toilets available. A twenty minute film about the Haast landscape "The Edge of Wilderness" is available to view in our theatre for a small fee.
