ZEALANDIA: The Karori Sanctuary Experience
Winner of the 2008 Tourism Industry Award for Conservation in Action, ZEALANDIA: The Karori Sanctuary Experience is one of the best places in New Zealand to see rare and endangered native wildlife in its natural environment. Protected by a unique 8.6km predator proof fence, species like tuatara, kiwi, saddleback, kaka, giant weta and many more are able to thrive again on mainland New Zealand.

Guided tours are available day and night or alternatively, grab a map and spend as long as you like exploring the sanctuary. Other attractions include a scenic boat ride, two unique historic dams, historical buildings, Morning Star goldmine, bird feeding stations, bird cameras and more.

An absolute must do for visitors to Wellington.
