Murchison is considered as one of the main kayaking and whitewater centres of New Zealand.Ultimate Descents teams up with Teva and the town of Murchison to host the annual river festival, The Buller Fest. It takes place the first weekend of March and attracts 100s of kayakers from around the world.

Ultimate Descents New Zealand has designed a trip which introduces adventurers to the pleasures of the sport of kayaking. Our rubber ducky kayaking trips run on a fun and beautiful stretch of The Buller River. Here, you will be taught the fundamentals of how to power the kayaks, to surf a wave and to run the river safely and enjoyably.

After the river trip we return to base to enjoy a shower/ hot tub followed by a hearty snack.
