Pioneer Rafting is New Zealand's leading eco-rafting specialist, offering a unique combination of ecology and easy white-water suitable for most ages.

We operate on the giant Upper Clutha River - rated the largest river in NZ and one of the clearest and swiftest rivers in the world.

Our eco rafting adventures include native bird encounters, trout-pools, gold-panning, geology, photography, Maori and pioneer/gold-rush history, freshly picked Tea-Tree tea, peaceful water and rapids, all on a magic river carving through a spectacular semi-arid landscape.
