Visit our working woodturning studio, watch Rick Taylor working on the woodlathe creating magnificent kauri bowls, pots, platters etc. Talk to Rick and his wife Sue about the recovery of the Ancient Swamp Kauri wood from nearby swamplands, how Rick dries the wood over a period of 3-4months and then watch him turn the dry kauri on the woodlathe in the studio and finally you will see the wonderful kauri woodware in the Gallery. Woodturning tuition for beginners to advanced levels also available. Groups welcome but must prebook please if you want to see Rick working in the studio as he may be down in the kauri swamp recovering more ancient kauri wood.
