Kia ora. Nau mai haere mai greetings and welcome. At Taumarunui Canoe Hire we are a small, family eco-cultural tourism business dedicated to giving you a personal, friendly and quality service. Hire a canoe or kayak and tour the river by yourself, or with our navigators. A Whanganui River canoe trip is perfect for people of all ages and all experience levels.

Trips can range from 3 hours to 1,2,3,4 or the most popular five day expedition which goes from Taumarunui to Pipiriki, stopping at overnight campsites.

We also offer a 3 day Maori guided waka tour with qualified navigators on 6 person canoes departing on the 10th of each month from October to April.
There are daily departures, and bookings are recommended.
