The professionally designed, 4 acre garden is a mixture of exotic and native, ever-green and deciduous trees and shrubs, planted around the central one acre lake. Perennials, bulbs and roses provide coordinated colour in the summer months. The garden is open by appointment from October through April and tours are guided if required. Morning and afternoon teas are available on request. The garden has gravel paths and is relatively flat. Seats are scattered for viewing the abundant birdlife, including Paradise duck, Guinea fowl and the grey heron.
Awarded "Garden of Regional Significance" by the New Zealand Gardens Trust (2008).
