Stratford
This Taranaki premier Garden is a garden of trees, seasonal colour and diversity in landscape and home to many birds. It features a fine collection of exotic deciduous, broadleaf and coniferous trees, merging imperceptibly into a remnant of old forest growth which clothes the fifteen metre deep ravines enfolding the garden.
Meandering paths wander through mixed plantings and open lawns and past broad plantings of perennials in the shelter of the bush. In spring, the woodland is carpeted with daffodils, bluebells and other exotic bulbs, with prunus, clematis and wisteria; summer is bright with perennials; autumn has stunning colour and winter’s bare tracery is enhanced by hundreds of hellebores. A garden to be savoured and enjoyed.
Stratford does not have scheduled passenger air services.
