The hostess is an established ceramic artist, well travelled and with a wide range of experience. The work comprises abstract themes as well as traditional pottery.

Using local materials the work expresses the environment of the Otago Peninsula, such as replicas of an original Kiwi and Royal Albatross and Yellow Eyed Penguin eggs, green jeweled gecko and other wildlife.

I am interested in pushing the boundaries of ceramic materials and processes. This interest led to a world-wide first invention of pure high fired ceramic glazes without clay base. Being pure glaze only, some are of pale jade like translucency, others resemble dark greenstone. A variety of other colours is used in conceptual work and unique jewellery.
