New Zealand evolved in total isolation for approximately 80 million years. We have evolved in a way no other land mass on earth has. We are a land of birds our only land based mammals are two very small bats. Some of our birds are amongst the most ancient on earth.

Bush & Beyond specialises in bird watching tours. We can take you to a wide range of bird habitats, from alpine, forest, wetlands and coastal. We can show you some of New Zealand's rare and endangered birds as well as our more common. We can show you three conservation projects which have been set up to protect our native birds from introduced predators.
