Welcome to our Maori arts studio, workshop and culture centre. We create traditional and contemporary hand-crafted Maori art. We hold practical waananga (workshops) in language, visual and performing arts and weaponry training. We also offer guided cultural tours. Join Hemi Te Peeti and Takarea Rawhiti Rangataua to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of Maori arts, culture, life and the stories/ecology of our land – Aotearoa (NZ). We are a working studio specialising in Toi Whakairo (carving), Ta Moko (tattoing), Mau Taiaha (weaponry) and Te Reo (language). Our culture centre 'Te Whare Manaaki' is located near the big Windmill in Foxton.
