Marshwood Gardens and Nursery
80 Leonard Road,
West Plains RD 4,
Invercargill
Marshwood is a private garden and perennial nursery. The garden area totals 12.5 acres, including large lawns, perennial borders and developing arboretum. One of the largest collections of perennials in NZ, specialising in Salvia, Euphorbia, Nepeta, Geranium and Lavender. Holders of the NZ National Collection of Salvia.
'Marshwood' and 'Helmsdale' are just two of the lavenders developed by this nursery and are now sold worldwide. Trial grounds for New Zealand Rhododendron Association commenced 2006. The garden and nursery are managed by one owner/manager, hence it is never perfect. It is more important to have the plants growing well than to worry about the weeds! Flat walking most of the way. Wide tracks for wheelchair access.
