Whanganui Riverboat Centre Museum. Inside the historic Whanganui Riverboat Centre, formerly the Wanganui Rowing Club built 1895 a class 2 historic building, you will find a fascinating display of the history of the riverboat era on the Whanganui River. The exhibitions include river related artefacts, photographs and educational information.
The museum is also the home port of New Zealand’s last paddle steamer P/S Waimarie est 1900 and Motor Vessel Wairua est 1904. Bookings and information for both these vessels available at this museum.
Open hours 9am to 4pm Monday to Saturday. Sunday 10am to 4pm.
