Lake and Stream Kayaking: The spring fed Tokaanu Stream provides a self guided trip out into the Southern Lake Taupo. Hipaua steaming cliffs, the Waihi Village and waterfall can be seen from a far. Watch the abundant birdlife, fish, swim and bring a picnic. Return alongside boiling mud and pools for a fulfilling half day… Shorter 1 – 1.5 hour trips also available. Pre trip instruction and directions given. Wai Maori reserves the right to restrict kayaking to sheltered areas in the interest of safety: Please bring your all weather gear, sunglasses, sunscreen, hat, refreshments and cell phone (in case of emergency), Some of the items are available for hire or purchase from our Wai Maori Base.
