Planet Earth is Blue JOHNNY TURNER 2 November - 2 December 2007
This is his most recent exhibition of sculptures which speak of the 'seeding ' of planet Earth by comets millions of years ago which bought carbon and ice (water). These were the 'building blocks' for plants , animals and humans - life on Earth. Johnny Turner was born in Christchurch in 1957 and currently resides in Wellington where he sculpts hard volcanic and metamorphic rock full time. Primarily self-taught, Turner recently won the Premier Award at the 2006 9th Manukau Vessel & Sculpture Exhibition.
His work is held in public and private collections throughout
