Waimea Estates Cafe in the Vineyard
No visit to Nelson is complete without a visit to Waimea Estates' cellar door and restaurant and small art gallery. Called Cafe in the Vineyard as the dining area spreads out to the vines. The full range of Waimea Estates' wines is available, including some rare library wines. The country cuisine of the restaurant is based on fresh, Nelson-sourced ingredients with a natural bias towards seafood. Changing exhibitions of Nelson artists and live music on Sundays add to the ambience. As restaurant critic Michael Guy has noted "Summer dining doesn't get any better than this."
