The National Museum of Audio Visual Arts and Sciences of NZ
Avenue Road, Foxton, Wellington

The National Museum of Audio Visual Arts and Sciences of NZ
In 1911 the Foxton Borough Council built the Coronation Hall on this site. When this was destroyed by fire in 1926 it was replaced by the present building and renamed "The Town Hall". It has been used as a picture theatre from 1911 until the present.

The Museum is a unique repository, open on demand, and most Weekends. It is staffed by a loyal volunteer group. Casual callers are welcome, however it is best to telephone first.

The museum, located in Avenue Road at the Northern End of Main Street, houses a collection of cinematographic, photographic, projection, camera, radio, electronics, communication, audio-visual equipment and sound archives of recorded tape and records.
