Aspiring Glacier Journey

Travel with Wanaka River Journeys by jet boat on the Matukituki River past LOTR film locations toward Mount Aspiring National Park. Helicopter pickup from the jet boat for a scenic flight into one of our region’s most dramatic areas of ice and snow, the spectacular Avalanche and Rob Roy glaciers.

See hanging valleys where glaciers once lay and waterfalls that cascade from under giants of ice. Experience a high altitude snow landing overlooking Mount Aspiring and the glaciers and disembark the helicopter for photos before flying down to join a 50 minute wilderness walk and return jet boat journey.
