Savouring the Source
Savouring the Source Food and Wine Festival is held annually at the Bay of Islands P & I Show in Showgrounds Rd., Waimate North.

Housed in a giant marquee with a back drop of the Waimate North Mission Station and the beautiful St John the Baptist Church and surrounded by the traditional activities of the heritage Bay of Islands P & I Show, the festival is a lovely mix of the latest in regional food products, wine, cafes and restaurant chefs. Highlights include continuous cooking demonstrations sponsored by the Northland Chefs Association with support from the newly formed Northland Winegrowers Association who relish the opportunity to interact with the food producers, chefs and most importantly, the consumer.

The stalls, manned by boutique food producers and cafes continue to grow in numbers each year and 2009 will be no exception.
