Paihia Matariki Art Exhibition
Paihia Matariki Art Exhibition -A celebration of Art, an exciting exhibition of painting, photography, flax and sculpture from established Northland artists, plus a postcard exhibition and silent auction.

Gala opening Friday May 30th 7.30pm, entertainment and refreshments and first view of the fantastic art. Open Saturday and Sunday 10am - 5pm, Monday 10am - 3pm. There will also be floral art and art demonstrations, Kete Weaving and Kite weaving interactive educational workshops (bookings essential).

Matariki is the Maori name for the group of stars also known as the Pleiades star cluster or The Seven Sisters; and what is referred to as the traditional Maori New Year. Today Matariki means celebrating the unique place in which we live and giving respect to the land we live on.
