Marlborough Sounds Water & Wilderness Festival
26 Sep 2009
- 26 Oct 2009
Daylight saving kicks in and the festival kicks off. Come alive - be creative, discover seafood cuisine and be active and adventurous in the magical Marlborough Sounds.
Through the September school holidays (both NZ and Australian) there are special packages and mini events held by resorts in the Sounds and local adventure operators.
Water and Wilderness are the outstanding experiences of the Festival with a great range of iconic Marlborough Sounds activities on offer. Spend a day on the Queen Charlotte Track your choice of cruise and walk, kayak and walk or mountain bike and walk combinations. Or jump aboard the Mailboat to explore the bays and inlets or head out fishing with an experienced skipper. On Kenepuru Sound join the Greenshell Mussel Cruise or kayak from the beachfront. From The Portage Resort Hotel beachfront, kayaks, mountain bikes, speedboats and yacht are all available for hire or head in to the heart of Marlborough’s famous wine region on a half or full day tour.
