Silent Film Festival
Opotiki offers a three day extravaganza featuring films from the Twenties and Thirties, screened in Opotiki's fabulous original cinema, the Deluxe Theatre. All with live musical accompaniment. Short films and newsreels of the era. The audience is encouraged to dress in 1920's apparel. In 2005 we had over 900 people come to view movies like Charlie Chaplin & Rudolph Valentino. Come for a weekend in the past.
