The biennial Sport Aviation Expo (SportAvex) will be held from Friday February 15th to Sunday February 17th at Tauranga City Airport.
The biennial SportAvex brings scores of aviators - and their aircraft - from all over New Zealand to participate in the event. For 2008, SportAvex has been lengthened to three days and will include the association’s annual general meeting, many training seminars, competitions and much flying activity.
Sunday February 17th, will be the “Public Open Day” with a full day’s flying planned.
The morning will see both static and flying displays of the more than 150 amateur built planes, expected to attend SportAvex.
From midday the traditional SportAvex Airshow - now renamed Tauranga Airshow in recognition of the city that will host SportAvex for the third time - will include flying displays by a number of high performance aircraft, sport aircraft, historic warbirds, some of New Zealand’s top aerobatic pilots, the Royal New Zealand Air Force and many more.
