For over 100 years the Waitomo Glowworm Caves have attracted millions of visitors. Here you can discover an underground labyrinth of ancient limestone caverns and formations and marvel at a galaxy of tiny living lights.

Visitors to the Waitomo Glowworm Caves never fail to be amazed by the splendour and beauty of the spectacular limestone formations. Experienced guides inform visitors about the formations and the history of the area and highlights include the ‘Cathedral’, a huge cavern with fantastic natural acoustics.

The tour finishes with a unique boat ride through the world famous Glowworm Grotto - gliding silently through this wonderland, your way is lit by thousands of glowworm lights glittering and reflecting off the water.
