Waka Taiamai Heritage Journeys
We have guides available who will board your coach and take your guest's on a guided journey of the inner Bay of Islands. Visit a Marae, and other historical sites like the Waimate mission station, the battle site of Ohaeawai where Hone Heke defeated the British army in 1845, lunch at the Maori cafe in Tuna Town (Moerewa) visit glow worm caves or go to the Kauri Forest and perhaps end your day with a soak in the Ngawha mineral geothermal pools. View the ancient garden plains of Taiamai and understand why the missionaries encouraged the colonisation of New Zealand.

All our guides are skilled orators and are from the local tribe Ngapuhi, New Zealand’s largest Maori Tribe.
