Waka Taiamai Heritage Journeys - Waitangi River Haruru Falls
RD 2 Te Ahuahu Road,
Bay of Islands,
Paihia
While you are in the Bay of Islands why not come aboard our 50 foot traditional Maori canoe and experience the river highways of our ancestors. The scenery and views are picture perfect for from the beginning of time this river has been a significant part of our local Maori history. For the first time ever and at the wish of our elders we are willing to share with you, the visitor to our tribal landscapes, the sometimes happy and sometimes tragic stories of the unique spiritual bond and relationship between the Waitangi River and our people. The Journey culminates with our arrival at the base of the Haruru falls. Here you will feel and sense the living Mauri (life force) of Papatuanuku the earth mother.
Tu Mauri ora Tis Life.
