- Cold Kiwi Motorcycle Rally - New Zealand's most prestigious rally. Competitions include hill climb, burnout, best bike and more. The venue for this event is six kilometers from Waiouru towards Ohakune. Entry forms are available from www.coldkiwi.co.nz

- Big Mountain Short Film Festival - Choose from a number of short films and watch them for free with filmmakers and other filmgoers.
