‘Our Space’ - Te Papa’s spectacular new $6 million multimedia interactive experience - is the icing on the national museum’s 10th birthday cake and opens on September 27th.
This unique interactive experience collates thousands of video clips, photos and artworks telling local and regional stories, showcasing the NZ identity and life experiences in a technological spectacle.
Features include: a 14m long luminous satellite map triggering waves of images relating to where visitors are standing - the more people, the more images; a massive electronic canvas where visitors create their own expressions using touch-screens, a database of images and sound, and wand-like remote controls; and motion simulator rides through NZ landscape or underwater.
Te Papa is the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa, or "Our Place" located in Wellington.
