China Agents Experience Self Drive Famil
Six travel agents experienced a self drive famil around the Auckland and Northland regions of New Zealand. Tourism New Zealand, with Tourism Auckland and Destination Northland put together a famil experience to showcase the ease of FIT in New Zealand.
The agents traveled in two Ford Territory rental vehicles from Auckland to Paihia, stopping at Ascension Vineyard in Matakana for lunch and taking advantage of the flexibility that self drive offers by taking scenic stops at fantastic viewing opportunities along the way.
In Paihia, they stayed at the Paihia Beach Resort and the Copthorne Hotel and Resort. They visited the Waitangi Treaty Grounds, where New Zealand's most significant document, The Treaty of Waitangi, was signed and they travelled to Cape Reinga in the Far North on a day trip with Dune Rider.
Back in Auckland, the group drove to the wine experience of Big Picture Wines. They also walked along the top of the Auckland Harbour Bridge with Auckland Bridge Climb, and sailed on the harbour with Pride of Auckland.
The famil participants all found the self drive experience a lot of fun and coped with reading a map and handling a parking ticket. They thought their personal experience would help them sell FIT and semi FIT holidays and give very good advice to clients.
