India and Singapore Luxury Buyers Famil New Zealand
Two India and two Singapore luxury product buyers toured New Zealand in June to improve their knowledge levels of luxury products and to help them promote New Zealand as a preferred luxury destination.
Queenstown was the first stop and the group was accommodated in the new Eichardt's Cottages. Recently completed, the quintessential Lakefront Cottage Suites offer a new waterfront experience for Eichardt's guests. Guests of the Lakefront Cottage have full access to all of Eichardt's hotel guest facilities, literally just a few steps away. They also stayed at Touch of Spice Catalina Apartments.
The group also inspected one of New Zealand's exclusive lodges, Remarkables Lodge which offers luxury accommodation in a spectacular setting with stunning mountain views, and had a spa at Sofitel Queenstown. Queenstown Park Boutique Hotel, Azur Lodge and Millbrook Resort were also visited.
Activites in Queenstown included the Private Collection Tour with Nomad Safaris, an exclusive 4 wheel drive adventure in the Southern Alps high country, and a snow landing with Over the Top Helicopters.
The group took a scenic flight to the spectacular Milford Sound in Fiordland where they cruised the fiord on board a spacious vessel with Real Journeys. Scenic highlights included dramatic Mitre Peak and cascading waterfalls.
Air New Zealand flew the group to Rotorua where they took a scenic cruise on Lake Rotorua with Clearwater Cruises, who offer private charters on the lake with a majestic backdrop of a dormant volcano, naturally heated thermal waters and unspoiled flora and fauna. Rotorua is abound with cultural experiences and some of the group learned the famous Haka at Haka World whilst the others enjoyed historic Maori treasures. The group also experienced Te Pō. Te Pō is Te Puia’s new evening cultural experience. It is a feast of cultural storytelling, entertainment and Māori kai (indigenous food).
Some adventure followed, with a trip on New Zealand Riverjet which incorporates a fantastic geothermal wonderland and a thrilling jet boating experience.
Inspections were made at Solitaire Lodge, an exclusive lodge on the shores of beautiful Lake Tarawera and Okareka Lodge, a five star luxury lodge on Lake Okareka.
In Rotorua, the group were accommodated at Kawaha Point Lodge, Peppers on the Point, and Wai Ora Lakeside Spa and Resort. Wai Ora Resort features the unique "NZ Cultural Spa Regime" consisting of signature spa therapies such as the Wai Ora Traditional Massage based on the Maori massage therapy, Miri miri. The dining experience at Wai Ora specialises in healthy gourmet cuisine using unique indigenous foods and herbs.
Words cannot express the experience that is walking on the active crater floor of White Island. White Island is located in the ocean, 52km from the coast and is one of New Zealand's most active volcanoes. The group took a helicopter tour to the volcano with Volcanic Air then landed at The Terraces Hotel in Taupo for lunch. The Terraces Hotel overlooks the beautiful Lake Taupo and has 20 boutique rooms.
More adventure followed, with the Huka Jet Combo; the infamous Huka Falls Jetboat ride combined with sightseeing with Helistar Helicopters.
The Singapore buyers remained in Auckland and had a site inspection and treatment at the new Chuan Spa at The Langham Hotel and enjoyed a trip on the Waitemata Harbour with Pride of Auckland, the ultimate sailing experience.
