Hawkes Bay Winery Launches New Products
Church Road Winery in the Hawke's Bay have launched several new products which can cater for small groups, corporate groups, incentive groups and conferences.
Winery and Museum Tour
The tour operates twice daily at 11am and 2pm. The activity takes in the unique features of the site, namely the country's only wine museum, housed underground in old concrete wine vats whose adjoining walls have been opened up. The walls are encrusted with sparkling, gem-like tartrate crystals, formed from the tartaric acid in the wine once stored here. The winery tour will explain the regions grape varieties and products produced at the site. This concludes with a tasting of current vintage products including some Cellar Door available only products. Total duration a minimum of one hour.
Bay Platter
The new dining experience sources some of the regions best produce to present on a $40 platter ideal as a dining option for two. This includes home made breads, Te Mata and Hohepa cheeses, local cured venison and local version of the Spanish chorizo, local olives, olive oil, seasonal items include fresh asparagus, strawberries, relishes and much more. Available from 10am daily.
Food and Wine Tasting experience.
This is a tutorial exercise hosted by local Chef Malcolm Redmond, owner and operator of Breckenridge Lodge. Following the Winery and Museum tour visitors will spend 30 minutes enjoying a tutored tasting of wines matched with a tasting of some of the regions best food flavours. Malcolm will take guests step by step through the details and nuances of the wines and explain the philosophy behind food and wine matching.
