Opawa Homestead as the oldest homestead in the Mackenzie District is available for you to enjoy during your NZ journey. Many 'friendly' farm animals wait to meet you while you walk through the extensive established gardens of Opawa Homestead.
Your hosts, Julie & Matt look forward to meeting you and helping arrange activities for you to enjoy in our District.
Extensively renovated and re-landscaped, Opawa holds many aspects of New Zealand history and offers guests front row seats to passing car rallies each year - vintage and speed rallies.
Each year an open day is held for the general public to enjoy the gardens and character of this special place.
