Ruebens is the only provider of public transport to beautiful Kawau Island in the Hauraki Gulf. The island is perhaps best known as the private retreat of Governor George Grey (whose home, the historic Mansion House is a regular port of call for Reubens) who turned the island into a botanical and zoological reserve harbouring Kiwi and two thirds of the North Island population of Weka.
