Hayes Engineering Works, NZ Historic Places Trust

Established in a small shed in 1895, Hayes Engineering grew into a company with a worldwide reputation. Buildings include a stone workshop of 1902 with sun-dried brick additions of 1908-9, sun-dried brick stables and the first office of 1912, and the family homestead of 1895. Much of the plant is still in working order. Open by local arrangement.
