Mt Hutt Ski Area
At the foot of the Southern Alps in Canterbury, Mt Hutt is renowned for some of the best snow in Australasia. It has the longest season, opening in early June and extending right through until the end of October and superb snow – all within an hour and a half from Christchurch city! The views across the Canterbury plains to the Pacific Ocean are spectacular and the hospitality in the local village of Methven at the base of the mountain is warm and friendly. Perhaps it’s the wide open terrain and variety of runs which offer such a big buzz for everyone – from novice to die hard, skier to boarder. Mt Hutt has it all. The only thing missing is you.
