As a New Zealand first, Kiwi Encounter is a unique Kiwi conservation centre where visitors will be privileged to view “conservation in action”. Experienced, specialist staff work with Kiwi in rooms dedicated to egg preparation, incubation, hatching and the raising of Kiwi chicks. Fabulous static displays will create an understanding of the complexities of these distinctive birds, their current plight in the wild of New Zealand and how they have survived for so many million years.
Kiwi Encounter is open from 10am to 5pm daily. Guided tours depart on the hour, reservations are essential.
